The tiles of the metro apps can now be pinned on the Start screen. These tiles are live and show the most recent updates without even opening them. This makes the whole Start screen filled with live and self updating info. Along with these, Microsoft has made the Start screen a lot more customizable this time. Along with changing the Start screen color, one can also change the background pattern, making it more personal than ever before.
