Windows 8, one of the most innovative product of Microsoft yet, features a whole new set of features such as the new start screen, metro applications, windows Store and a lot more. Along with these, Microsoft has made a lot of arrangements to make sure that Windows 8 is fully secure which includes improvement made to their antivirus software, UEFI boot etc.
Along with these, a lot of features from Windows 7 were also carried to Windows 8. Features such as User Account Control aka UAC were incorporated in Windows 8 because of their utility. For those who don’t know, User Account Control (UAC) is a security component that enables users to perform common tasks as non-administrators (called standard users in Windows Vista), and as administrators without having to switch users, log off, or use Run.
However at times the Confirmation dialogue that prompts whenever you try to run an Administrative tasks such as installing programs makes it a bit annoying. Also it increases the launch time of apps, making your whole system a lot slower. The dimming of desktop for any UAC prompt makes the whole system feel a lot slower.
So, isn’t there any way to get rid of this UAC so that I can enjoy administrative tasks easily without waiting for any prompts? Well, there is a way. And today we are here with a tutorial which will tell you how you can disable UAC in Windows 8.
(1) First of all, Launch the Classic control panel in Windows 8. This can also be done by pressing the Windows Key+X button and then selecting Control Panel option.
(2) Now the control panel will launch. Here select the View By: Small icons option available at the top right corner and then select User Accounts option.
3. Here select the Change User Account Settings option available at the bottom of the list.
4. Now here drag the slider to the bottom. Once you do that, the text on the right box will say Never Notify me option and click on OK option.
That’s it. Now you have successfully disabled UAC aka User Account Control in Windows 8.
